We make the following types of magnesium photoengravings:
16 gauge (.064") For Flexo plates, Panagraph, Hot Stamping, Jewelry, Plaques
16 gauge woodmount (.918") For Letterpress
11 pt. (.153") For Hot Stamping, Casting, Rubber Stamps
11 pt. deep etch .090-.120 (.153) For Rubber Stamps, Casting
1/4" foil stamping die (.250") For Flexo plates, Panagraph, Hot Stamping, Jewelry, Plaques
1/4" single level embossing die (.250") Shallow .010", Normal .016", Deep .022"
1/4" deep etch .090-.160 (.250) For Casting, Wood Branding, Leather Branding. Also Steep n Deep for foiling on soft surfaces.

To accurately process your engraving order we need to obtain the following information:

  1. Should art be same size, enlarged, or reduced?
  2. Indicate metal thickness.
  3. Should the engraving or plate read right or mirror image? Please indicate right reading side. We prefer read-right emulsion down (negative for stamping dies, and positive for embossing dies).
  4. Raised or sunken graphics?
  5. Etch depth.
  6. Cutting requirements.
  7. For heat compensation on foil dies we prefer camera ready art. Furnishing film will incur a velox charge. Please let us know the foiling temperature.
  8. Illustrator 8 preferred. Please outline all fonts. Send digital files to dave@calartasap.com
